We Are Everyone
Written in 2007 by Michael Giammatteo

We are Everyone – the number of children diagnosed with Autism is skyrocketing but, at this time, it is still being treated like a “secret disability”. Hopefully this has started to change, but the frustration about this led to this song. Our children are great kids & we can be proud of them & I want them to be proud of themselves. I wrote this very quickly one morning on piano. When I sat down later to finish it, I thought it already said what it needed to, so I kept it as one of those short “concept album” songs.

The recording was pretty simple & done very late in the compiling of the CD – around the same time as (You Are Not) The Forgotten One. And, like that song, we kept the arrangement simple.

Musicians:
David: bass, guitars
Michael: vocals, keyboards, drum programming, percussion

WE ARE EVERYONE

We may have nothing to say but we are everyone
We may not be in your way but we are everyone

I’ve met amazing folks on the road less traveled
But I would give them all away
To start all over again with the pieces unraveled
Knowing what I know today

We may have nothing to say but we are everyone
We may not be in your way but we are, we are, we are everyone
