on Blogger News Network (03/22/08) Blogger News Network did
a nice story on our new CD. Check it out here - http://www.bloggernews.net/114662
Listen to three full length songs from TeamVico's
Shadow Shines: A Story Of Autism And Recovery (02/29/08)
You can hear samples from all of the songs & read the
lyrics & stories behind them - here.
Additionally, for a limited time you can hear three complete songs
right now. The first is Sometimes
I Wonder which was written and recorded within three days of
my son's diagnosis & captures the devastation of the moment.
The second song, Pretty
Little Head, was written a few years later. It is probably the
only bouncy pop song ever written about sensory integration disorder.
Finally, The
Long Way is a song about my son's continued recovery. Enjoy!
(Depending upon your connection speed, these may take some time
to load).
TeamVico's Shadow Shines: A Story Of
Autism And Recovery available for pre-order NOW (02/28/08)
Our new CD is finally finished & is in manufacture. You
can pre-order right now for just
ten dollars a copy. It'll be shipped to you by April 2nd (for Autism
Awareness week). Shadow Shines is a CD of 16 original songs
that tells the story of my family's journey - from my son's birth,
through diagnosis, through the struggles with autism and, finally,
the road to recovery. Song samples can be heard here.
TeamVico CD price reduction! (11/12/07):
In order to be more in line with the pricing of music on iTunes,
we have dropped the price of the TeamVico CDs to just $10.
TeamVico performs at ARI Walk (11/10/07):
This was, without a doubt, the silliest show TeamVico has ever done
- and one of the most fun. We had some equipment & stage problems
but, oddly, it made us all work harder. After the wireless mic let
out it's third random sonic boom in the middle of our performance,
the band got a bit silly & we just started having fun in spite
of it all. But the highlight of the show for me was a boy named
Jonah (probably about eight years old) who joined us on the "stage"
& hung out for fully half of the show. During the last song,
when I introduced the members of the band, Jonah got the loudest
round of applause! It was an awful lot of fun for the band to interact
with an audience member during the show. Not our best performance...but
one we will remember fondly.
It was our great pleasure to do what we could to support the Autism
Research Institute & the memory of Bernie Rimland.
TeamVico III CD coming soon (10/11/07):
The third TeamVico CD is complete. It has been mixed & mastered.
We just await the finished artwork & it will go into manufacture.
This one is a bit different. It wasn't recorded for the speech delayed
(or for children, for that matter). It is called ShadowShines:
A Story Of Autism And Recovery. It is a concept album about
my family's journey - from my son's birth, through diagnosis, through
the struggles with autism and, finally, the road to recovery. 16
original songs. It is a powerful and unique document. Song
samples coming soon.
TeamVico will perform at ARI fundraising
walk in November (10/8/07):
TeamVico has been asked to perform at the Autism Research Institue
Walk
on the morning of November 10th. Can't wait!
TeamVico plays 2007 TACA picnic (9/30/07):

always, we are proud to support Lisa Ackerman & the good work
that TACA does. A clip of our performance is up on YouTube.

Moira & Michael are interviewed for
Autism One radio (summer/07):
Autism One radio's Julia Berle conducted an interview with Moira
& Michael about bringing up a child with autism & how it
impacts the marriage and family. Click here
to listen. It's a 30 minute interview, so it may take a little
while to load up.
Moira & Michael act as parent mentors
at Autism One (05/07):
Moira and Michael acted as parent mentors again this year at Chicago's
Autism One
conference.
TeamVico III CD wrapping up (3/23/07):
We're closing in on finishing up the next CD. I must say, I am most
proud of this new one. It is the most personal of the three. Also,
musically, I think it is our most successful & original. Of
the twelve recordings, seven are mixed & ready to go, the finishing
touches are being added on another four...and one is still in the
recording stage. I can't reveal anything more at the moment, except
to say that no one has recorded a CD like this one before. (Unless
someone beats us to the punch), this is a completely unique project!
Can't wait to spring it on you all. (Note: the CD expanded due to
a last minute creative blast - it tops out at 16 songs).
TeamVico III CD in progress (12/23/06):
We're about halfway through the recording of the third TeamVico
CD. This one is going to be a bit different. Details to follow.
TeamVico plays 2006 TACA Picnic (10/06):
TeamVico played two sets at the 2006 TACA fundraising picnic.
The first set was made up of seven songs from the first CD &
the next set was seven Beatle songs from the new CD. It was a lot
of fun & great doing three part Beatle harmonies live on stage.
We are always happy to support TACA in any way we can. I have never
been so proud to belong to an organization. Many thanks go to Lisa
Ackerman for all of her good work for the Southern California Autism
Community. U rok!
Listen to TeamVico Meets The Beatles
samples! (6/28/06):
The sound samples
for TeamVico Meets the Beatles are now on our website &
available for your listening pleasure. In fact, much of the website
has been updated. Check out the Who's
Who page for the musicians that appeared on the new
CD. As always, the website design was done by the lovely and talented
Ann Zumwinkle.
Second TeamVico CD complete! (6/11/06):
TeamVico Meets the Beatles has been delivered to the good
people at Angels
on Earth & is ready for pressing! It includes 16 of your
favorite Beatle songs recorded by TeamVico. Just like the first
TeamVico CD, careful attention was given to the tempo and singing
which makes TeamVico Meets The Beatles a unique and entertaining
tool for encouraging language and communication.
Aside from our regular team of David Wholihan, Sandra Booker and
Moira & Michael Giammatteo, this CD features the talents of
several guests including the award winning vocal talents of Angie
Mattson, drum work by Matt Scrabis and scorching lead guitar by
Andy Summers. The artwork was done by David Carroll in New York.
The CD was mastered by Chris Bourke in London. Very international!
We're working on updating the web site to include samples of the
songs from TeamVico Meets The Beatles and will be accepting
orders soon!
You're going to like this one. My kids are already grooving to
it.
Moira & Michael of TeamVico act as Parent
Mentors at AutismOne conference in Chicago (5/28/06):
Moira & Michael were among about a dozen of TACA's parent mentors
at this years AutismOne
conference. The Mentor Parents were available throughout the conference
for one-on-one meetings with parents whose children had just received
the diagnosis of Autism. It was an amazing experience and Moira
and Michael were both thrilled to be able to offer help and short-cuts
to parents.
Additionally, 50% of the proceeds of all TeamVico CD's sold at
the conference went to support TACA.
Moira & Michael of TeamVico man TACA
booth at CAN WALK at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena (4/22/06):
Moira & Michael were very pleased to be able to meet and talk
to parents of children with Autism at this years CAN (Cure Autism
Now) WALK. The walk was a great success & money was raised for
research to find a cure for Autism. We have been invited to offer
TeamVico CDs at the TACA booth at next years walk. See you then!
TeamVico is proud to be a sponsor of TACA's
Adopt-A-Family program (12/30/05):
Moira & Michael delivered "gift baskets" to several
families in the San Fernando Valley who have children with Autism.
The baskets were provided by TACA (Talk About Curing Autism) &
loaded with gifts, food & other goodies (including a copy of
the TeamVico CD).
Quick update on the new CD: after a number of remixes, the music
is in London in the capable hands of a mastering engineer. It won't
be long now!
TeamVico wins LA Music Awards Best Children's
CD of 2005! (11/09/05):
Moira & Michael attended the 15th Annual Los Angeles Music Awards
on November 9th at the Music Box Theater in Hollywood & collected
the award for "Independent Children's Album of the Year".
Now it's off to the Grammys......not!
BTW - the target release date for the second TeamVico CD is Summer
of 2006, assuming no delays.
TeamVico plays TACA picnic (9/25/05):
TeamVico played our second live show, this time at the TACA (Talk
About Curing Autism) annual fundraising picnic. The picnic &
the show were a blast. Lots of fun. A lots of kids we know were
in the audience & it made for a great time. One third of the
proceeds from the TeamVico CDs sold at the picnic went to TACA.
Check out our links page for more information on TACA. They do much
needed work for the Southern California Autism Community (if we
are, indeed, a community) and we are very proud to be associated
with them.
TeamVico II CD on the way! (8/27/05):
The second TeamVico CD is almost ready to go. Final mixing should
complete soon. One of the comments that we hear the most about the
TeamVico CD is: "When are you going to record a CD for older
kids & teens?" We gave this a lot of thought & decided
to do a CD of Beatle songs, once again being careful that the singing
was done at a pace comfortable for the speech delayed.
We recorded thirty one songs & are going to narrow it down
to sixteen. Just the best stuff. Then we send it off to London to
be mastered. After that the good folks at Angels
On Earth will manufacture it.
We've already got an idea for the third TeamVico CD. Stay tuned.
TeamVico CD nominated (11/20/04):
Just got word that the TeamVico CD has been nominated for a 2005
Los Angeles Music Award! Details to follow as I get them.
TeamVico web site (10/20/04):
TeamVico web site redesigned. We now accept credit cards for on-line
CD orders.
TeamVico plays CAN Walk (9/1/04):
TeamVico rocks the Arrowhead Pond Sports Arena in our first live
performance at the Orange County Cure Autism Now
fundraising walk. It was pretty thrilling to play a Sports Arena.
And pretty satisfying to raise nearly $2000 for CAN.
